Rather To Be Chosen was formed in August 2009 by Ronnie Waldroup (Vocals, Guitar) and Scott Kelley (Guitars). Ronnie and Scott began working on original material and also doing a few covers. Ronnie and Scott then saw the need to assemble an entire group. Dan Robey(Bass) was the first to join the band. Dan brought to the band experience and creativity. After several rehearsals, Rather To Be Chosen came to the realization of the need for harmonies. Aubrie Savugot then joined the band. Aubrie brought to the band awesome harmonies. Tony Sluder (drums)was the final member to join Rather to be Chosen. Tony was impressive from the first rehearsal with the band. Tony was able to bring experence to the band. Tony was also able to add an instant change to the overall sound of the band. Rather to Be Chosen is focused on spreading the word of Christ to those that are willing to listen. Rather to Be Chosen hopes to play and minister to the multitudes and lift up praises to the one who died for all of us. The Bible says, "With God all things are possible." With the help of God, Rather to Be Chosen desires to see many come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior and to be able to minister to others in their own way.
